The Challenge
MathSTEM is growing fast and the demand is even faster. In just months, we launched Cox130, hosted two packed community events, secured $5,000 in pledges, and personally invested over $12,000 to bring our vision to life. Families, educators, and partners are ready for us.
We are beginning our work in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, and the Maryland communities of Easton and Annapolis neighborhoods eager for high-quality math support.
To scale our impact, we must fund the essentials:

The Approach
MathSTEM delivers math support and math trough storytelling where students live, learn, and gather using our enrichment math lesson plan through our three pillars:
Cox130: Cox130 is MathSTEM’s flagship program, delivering innovative, performance‑based math experiences led by students, STEM professionals, and AI‑enhanced demonstrations that keep K-6 learners entertained, enriched, and excited about mathematics and STEM futures.
Student Ambassadors: Student Ambassadors are high school and college recruitment leaders who support MathSTEM through outreach, communication, and peer engagement. They help guide Student Members, represent MathSTEM at school‑based activities, and strengthen our impact across the DMV region.
Math Enrichment Development Team: A world‑class curriculum developed by a compensated team, paired with the Math Lounge Bus, which brings tutoring and STEM access directly to neighborhoods.
Math Lounge: MathSTEM created and designed a math enrichment lesson plan that now needs to be professionally refined, expanded, and organized by experienced educators. We need experts to help shape it into a complete enrichment experience for our students.
Together, these elements create a math ecosystem that is mobile, community-rooted, and built for real impact.
Projects
MathSTEM Foundation provides creative math enrichment for K–6 students through private tutoring, small‑group sessions, and E‑learning math applications. Our approach supports each student with clear instruction, engaging practice, and culturally responsive teaching that builds confidence and skill.
Cox130, our signature program, is where math comes alive through storytelling, culture, performance, and hands‑on exploration. Led by youth, college students, and STEM professionals, Cox130 transforms math into creative narratives and real‑world experiences that inspire curiosity and identity.
Together, these programs create a complete learning ecosystem that supports students across the DMV and beyond.
Math Enrichment Development Team
MathSTEM is in need of a specialized team focused on designing, refining, and expanding MathSTEM’s enrichment strategies, lessons, and instructional models.
Funding Need: Math enrichment development, implementation, , execution instructional design, and educator support.
Cox130 Mobility & Performance Support Initiative

Funding Need: Stipends for SET Team members, Rehearsal support, Coaching & presentation prep,Technical production (sound, lighting, visuals),Travel support for regional events
Cypher Dash Mini‑App (2027 Launch)
Cypher Dash is a fast‑paced interactive digital math game powered by STEM, culture, storytelling, and identity‑based engagement. Students solve quick challenges that make math feel fun, relevant, and alive.
Funding Need: App development, design, testing, and pilot rollout.
