Our Regional Mission

MathSTEM Foundation is building a unified K–6 STEM pipeline that connects diverse, rural, and urban communities across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Our regional rollout strengthens early math confidence, STEM identity development, and community‑centered learning through culturally grounded enrichment experiences. Each region will host signature MathSTEM programs including Cox130 and Cipher Enrichment Lessons designed to support students before they reach middle school.

Maryland

MathSTEM operates across the DMV with a clear, intentional structure. Our mission began in Washington, DC during Howard University’s Centennial Celebration — a moment rooted in legacy, excellence, and innovation. Now officially established, we are expanding our work across Maryland and Northern Virginia to build a modern, real‑world STEM ecosystem that prepares youth for future careers in engineering, technology, and innovation.

MathSTEM Foundation provides K–6 math enrichment across Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Parole/Annapolis area. Our programs strengthen foundational math skills through storytelling, culture, and hands‑on exploration, delivered through both virtual and in‑person experiences.

Washington D.C.

MathSTEM Foundation serves students across Washington, D.C., with a focused commitment to Wards 4, 5, and 6. Our regional work supports K–6 learners through culturally grounded math enrichment, STEM identity development, and community-centered programming.

Upcoming Event: Cox130 Youth STEM Event February 2028 A hybrid experience featuring youth, college students, and STEM professionals. Limited in‑person seating and virtual access for up to 300 participants.

Northern Virginia

MathSTEM Foundation supports K–6 learners in Alexandria through high-quality math enrichment and STEM identity development. Our programs connect students to creative math experiences, early problem‑solving confidence, and community-based STEM engagement.
